EXHIBITIONSScreening Project Ⅰ: Spring Chamber

The inaugural “Screening Project I: Spring Chamber” at Start Museum will open to the public from March 9th to April 14th, 2024. This marks the beginning of Start Museum’s long-term screening initiative. In the future, the museum will commence each year with a “Screening Project” systematically examining the historical threads of international video art and the contemporary creative achievements of artists.

This year’s inaugural “Screening Project I” selected through recommendations by researchers and scholars, presents works by 21 artists from different regions and generations worldwide, including China, Switzerland, the United States, Germany, and Singapore. Artists such as Bian Yunxiang、Chen Xi、Alex Da Corte 、Dabeiyuzhou、Julian Junyuan Feng、Gao Jié、Guan Xiao、Li Ran、Liang Yujue、Liu Chuang、Shahryar Nashat、Rachel Rose、Hito Steyerl、Rhett Tsai、 Yu Jinying and so on will showcase their outstanding creations in this exhibition.

Start Museum presents its institutional philosophy and distinctive features in a pioneering manner. This project is part of the museum’s long-term research exhibition program. Alongside five other concurrent projects, namely “World Art History since the 1960s”, “Zero-Degree Sculpture Project”, “Timeline Publishing Project”, “Long Table Conference Hall” and “Genealogy Study of Artists”, it forms the long-term development framework of Start Museum, representing its distinctive values.

During the exhibition, some participating artists will initiate public activities and interact with the audience at the exhibition venue.
