We are pleased to announce the recent release of the book Genealogy Study of Artists No.10 Zhang Ruyi: Modern Fossil, produced by the Start Museum and published by Star Art Press. The book follows the eponymous exhibition of the artist Zhang Ruyi at the SSSSTART, provides a multi-faceted overview of the artist’s creative practice in recent years and a more complete picture of her current artistic state and thinking.
This publication is another great book in the series of “Genealogy Study of Artists”. The Start Muesum research team has written an article on Zhang Ruyi’s observations on the relationship between the city, space, the individual and society. The book also includes a special essay by author Chen Xi’an on the artist’s recent work, and an in-depth conversation between Mo Wanli, doctor of architecture, and Zhang Ruyi. The publication includes many important documentary images from this exhibition, as well as some historical exhibitions and photographs from the artist’s personal records, to show as fully as possible the rich clues and multi-dimensional perspectives of Zhang Ruyi’s recent work.
